We’re hard at work behind the scenes on our exciting new DF4TA Furniture and Electrical Project! This initiative is designed to support individuals and families facing personal or situational challenges. By providing essential furniture and electrical appliances to those in need, we want to make a house feel more like a home while easing some of the financial burdens they face.
But we can’t do it alone—we need your support! Whether it’s through donating items or volunteering your time, your contributions can make a meaningful impact.
To ensure your donations reach those who need them most, this project will operate through referral agencies, allowing us to prioritise and assist those in genuine need. Together, we can bring comfort and dignity to more individuals and families.
Donations can be made using the donation form.

Our vision is that no household in Derby goes without essential furniture and electrical items due to their current financial circumstances.
Need essential furniture or electrical items for your home?
We are offering the following items at a low cost to people who meet our referral criteria.
- Single beds
- Double beds
- Fridges
- Freezers
- Electric cookers
- Microwaves
- Tables
- Chairs
- Small sofas
- Washing machines
The items will be pre-loved and in good condition. Where possible, we can arrange delivery.
To access this service, please go through a referral agency. This will be city agencies, projects and
faith communities - The names of these will be confirmed.

Donating an item?
Every year, Derby households move, redecorate or upgrade their furniture and good quality
items that they no longer need often go to waste or landfill. We would be delighted to receive any of the following items:
- Single beds
- Double beds
- Fridges
- Freezers
- Electric cookers
- Microwaves
- Tables
- Chairs
- Small sofas
- Washing machines
Checklist for furniture items:
- Fire labels should be attached to each item.
- Items should be safe and clean.
Checklist for Electrical items:
- In working condition.
- Safe and clean.
- Please provide the instruction booklet if you still have it.
We will arrange collection if necessary.
If you have items you would like to donate please fill in our donation form. If you are a tax payer, please fill in a gift aid form as this will enable us to claim gift aid against the value of your furniture donation.
As we are just starting this project, we would be very grateful if you can make a financial donation to help us cover our general collection costs.

Gift Aid is a tax relief scheme, which allows UK charities to reclaim an extra 25% in tax on every eligible donation made by a UK taxpayer. This means that for every £1 you donate to a charity, this becomes £1.25.
