Together, with Severn Trent and Biffa we’ve launched the Derby Furniture and Electrical Project — helping individuals and families across the city to turn empty spaces into homes filled with comfort and care.
Thanks to the generous support of our community, we are matching households with essential pre-loved furniture and small electrical items. This project offers practical help for people starting again after challenging life events such as homelessness, domestic abuse, or loss of housing.
Update: We are pleased to announce that we can now supply fridges, freezers, fridge freezers and microwaves in addition to the furniture items. We are currently working on adding further electrical items — please watch this space for further updates.
What We Can Offer
All items are pre-loved, in good condition, and supplied at a nominal charge.
Delivery within Derby City is free of charge, subject to availability.
Donating Furniture or Electrical Items
Every year, many good-quality items in Derby go to landfill simply because they’re no longer needed.
If you have items in good condition that could help a local household in need, we would love to hear from you.
We can currently accept:
- Single or double beds (with mattresses in good condition)
- Tables and chairs
- Small sofas or armchairs
- Fridges, freezers, fridge freezers, and microwaves
If you have items you would like to donate please fill in our donation form. If you are a tax payer, please fill in a gift aid form as this will enable us to claim gift aid against the value of your furniture donation.
Summary for Referrers
- Referrals must come through registered partner agencies, faith groups, or community projects.
- Items are pre-loved, good quality, and offered at low cost.
- Delivery is free within Derby City.
- We aim to process referrals within 5 working days.
