Here you will find details of any current Volunteer Opportunities that we may have at Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance.

Volunteer Applications – Temporary Pause Until 2026

Due to an overwhelming demand for our services over the coming weeks – especially as we enter our busiest period at Christmas – we are temporarily pausing all new volunteer applications until January 2026.

Unfortunately, we are unable to process any new applications at this time, as our team is fully focused on supporting our community throughout the festive season.

If you have already submitted an application before this date, please be assured that it will still be processed, and a member of our team will be in touch as soon as possible.

We truly appreciate your support and interest in volunteering with us. Please keep an eye on our website in the new year for updates, new opportunities, and exciting new roles coming soon.

Volunteer Opportunities

Phone Line Support Volunteer

We need volunteers to be the first point of contact for incoming telephone calls and taking referrals from the general public, agencies and organisations and forwarding on to fellow food partners.

Central Storage Unit / Warehouse Volunteer

We need volunteers to support in our Central Storage Unit (CSU) to help with processing food donations and getting orders ready for foodbanks to collect on a weekly basis.

Allotment Volunteer

We need volunteers to support our allotment work and grow food for our food banks.

Fundraising and Event Support Volunteer

We need a volunteer to help us fundraise and provide support at local events across the year.

Food Parcel Delivery Driver Volunteer

We need a volunteer to collect food parcel/s from one of our partner food banks/hubs and deliver them to households in need.

Van Driver and Helper Volunteer

We need volunteers to drive the DF4TA van to collect food donations and deliver to groups we support.

Furniture and Electrical Warehouse Volunteer

We need volunteers in our warehouse to help inspect incoming donations, load, unload and move items, and help with administration related to the project.

Furniture and Electrical Driver Volunteer

We need volunteer drivers to carry out scheduled collections and deliveries, assess donated items for eligibility, and help with administration related to the role.
