Ruth Broadhurst supports the day-to-day running of DF4TA, helping to grow the organisation’s capacity so more people across Derby can access the help they need. Her work spans communications, fundraising, event planning, and policy writing, as well as improving systems and processes behind the scenes.
Ruth first got involved with DF4TA as a volunteer, drawn by a deep commitment to dignity and a belief in the power of communities to come together and look after one another. She takes real pride in being part of an organisation that works so practically and compassionately to reduce poverty—and ultimately, to help bring an end to child poverty in the city.
Outside the office, Ruth enjoys reading, cooking, spending time with her family, and the occasional cold-water swim. Yoga is a regular part of her week and helps her stay grounded—both mentally and physically.
