Together, with funding and the incredible support of our volunteers and corporate volunteers, we will provide 300 Christmas hampers to households across Derby who may otherwise struggle to provide a Christmas meal.

The difference your support makes

Last year, our Christmas Hamper programme supported 307 households, reaching a total of 1,148 people – 540 adults and 608 children.

Behind every number is a family or household who was able to enjoy a Christmas meal and experience a little extra warmth and support during what can be a difficult time of year.

We are proud to continue this partnership with St Peter’s Church and our amazing volunteers to help make Christmas a little brighter for families in our community.

Who are Christmas Hampers for?

Christmas Hampers are primarily intended for:

  • Families and couples
  • Households with children
  • Households on a low income or experiencing financial hardship
  • Households who may otherwise struggle to provide a Christmas meal

Family households will be given priority.

  • Referrals must be submitted online by organisations and agencies only.
  • Referral form opens 9th November and closes 11th December (or once 300 hampers are allocated).
  • Referrals are via the online referral portal only.
  • Please email us at info@df4ta.com for registration details.
  • Please note: our referral system is for organisations and agencies only, not the general public.
  • There is no self-referral process for this, please ask your support worker to process a referral on your behalf.

What will be included?

Each Christmas Hamper will contain the ingredients and treats needed to help a household enjoy a Christmas meal.

The hamper will include:

  • Christmas lunch and trimmings
  • Meat or vegetarian option (voucher provided depending on household size)
  • Potatoes
  • Carrots
  • Brussels sprouts
  • Parsnips
  • Stuffing
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Gravy
  • Mince pies
  • Christmas pudding or dessert alternative
  • Custard
  • A chocolate treat
  • Christmas card
  • Christmas napkin
  • Christmas candle

The exact contents may be subject to availability.

Every Christmas, we see just how much difference a simple hamper can make. For families who are struggling, receiving a Christmas meal means more than food – it’s dignity, warmth, and hope at a time when many feel the pressure of isolation or financial hardship. Our partnership with St Peter’s Church makes this possible, and together with our volunteers, we are proud to bring light and care to our community at Christmas.

Thank You

Thanks to our partnership with St Peter’s Church, generous funders, and the dedication of our volunteer team, we are proud to bring warmth, food, and care to families in Derby this Christmas.

Together, we can make the festive season brighter for those who need it most.
