Chellaston & Shelton Lock Community Hub
Our Chellaston & Shelton Lock Community Hub is at the heart of the local community, providing a warm and welcoming space for residents to come together. One of our most valued services is the Free Lunch Club, which takes place every Tuesday from 10:00am–2:00pm, offering a freshly prepared meal to around 50 local people each week.
We are inviting corporate volunteers to come and support this vital service. Volunteering at the Lunch Club is a fantastic way to give back to the community, while also encouraging teamwork, connection, and new experiences for your staff.
What you’ll do
Volunteers support from 9:30am – 2:30pm, getting involved in a range of tasks including:
- Helping get the venue ready for the day
- Welcoming and chatting with local residents
- Serving food and refreshments
- Assisting with clearing tables and washing up
- Tidying and cleaning up at the end of the session

Volunteer Group Size
To make sure the session runs smoothly, we can welcome a maximum number of volunteers per session, around 2-3 volunteers.

Christmas Dinner
Corporate Volunteering Update
We’re delighted to share that the corporate volunteering opportunity for the Chellaston & Shelton Lock Community Hub Christmas Dinner has now been filled — a huge thank you to the fantastic team from Rolls-Royce Derby for stepping forward to support this event.
Their involvement will help make a real difference to local residents this festive season, creating a warm and welcoming celebration for those who may otherwise spend Christmas alone.
