Help Us Move Our Furniture & Electrical Project
As part of our move into the new DF4TA Resource Centre, we are looking for corporate volunteer teams to help us relocate our Furniture & Electrical Project from our previous storage locations into our new home.
This project provides essential household items to families and individuals across Derby, helping people turn a house into a home. To get the project fully operational in our new Resource Centre, we need volunteers to help us move furniture, electrical items and equipment over several weeks.
This is a fantastic hands-on opportunity for teams looking to make a real difference in the community.
Volunteer Roles Include
- Moving furniture items safely between locations
- Loading and unloading vans
- Assisting drivers with collections and deliveries
- Moving electrical items and household essentials
- Organising stock within the new DF4TA Resource Centre
- General lifting and carrying (heavy lifting involved)
We are looking for volunteers, for each day:
- 1 Volunteer driver
- Companies able to provide vans (particularly larger vans) with a driver
- Volunteer helpers to support loading and unloading at least 3-4 each day
Dates Available
- Week Commencing 15th June
- Wednesday 17th June
- Thursday 18th June
- Friday 19th June
- Week Commencing 22nd June
- Tuesday 23rd June
- Thursday 25th June
August Opportunities
We are also looking for volunteers throughout August, particularly between weeks commencing Monday 17th August and Monday 24th August on the Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. To support ongoing furniture moves into the Resource Centre.
Important Information
⚠️ This is a physical volunteering role and will involve lifting, carrying and moving furniture and electrical items.
Please wear:
- Sturdy closed-toe footwear
- Clothing suitable for warehouse and moving activities
