Winter Preparation at Our Resource Centre

Help Us Get Ready for Winter and Christmas 

As we approach one of our busiest times of the year, we are looking for corporate volunteer teams to help us prepare our Resource Centre for the winter and Christmas period. 

We’re inviting teams of 3–10 volunteers to join us for a practical, hands-on day helping to organise donations, sort winter coats for adults and children, and catalogue toys ready for our Christmas Wish Shop opening in December. 

How Your Team Can Help 

Volunteers will support us with: 

• Winter Coat Project: Sorting, checking and organising donated coats by size and age, ready to help keep local people warm this winter. 
• Christmas Wish Shop: Sorting and cataloguing toys, organising stock and helping us prepare for the opening of our Christmas Wish Shop in December. 
• Resource Centre Organisation: Tidying storage areas, categorising donations and helping us create an organised, efficient space for the busy season ahead.

Your team will be helping us prepare essential donations for individuals and families experiencing financial hardship across Derby. From helping children access toys at Christmas to ensuring adults and children can receive warm winter coats, your time will make a practical difference to our community. 

This is an ideal opportunity for businesses looking for a one-day volunteering activity that encourages teamwork, provides a rewarding shared experience and supports local people.

Venue: DF4TA Resource Centre 
Dates: November 2026 – dates to be agreed, with Wednesdays preferred 
Time: 10:00am–3:30pm 
Team size: Minimum 3, maximum 10 volunteers 
Commitment: One day
