Can you spare £1 a week to help support struggling residents of Derby?
Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance is looking for 1,000 people to donate £1 (a squid) a week, for the next 52 weeks, to raise essential funds so our foodbanks are able to cope with the increased demand caused by the rising cost of living.
For the last financial year, from April 2021 - March 2022, 18,162 food parcels were distributed to 20,122 adults and 17,588 children.
Over the last few months we have seen an increase in food parcel requests. At the same time we have seen a big drop in donations. When talking to our customers, the main reason for this is due to the rising cost of living.
