Councillor Sarah Chambers volunteers with DF4TA

A huge thank you to Councillor Sarah Chambers, Cabinet Member for Cost of Living, Equalities and Communities, who spent five hours yesterday volunteering with our team at Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance.
During her shift, she helped answer over 72 calls from people across Derby reaching out for support.
It was a snapshot of the growing demand we’re seeing every day. In July alone, we handled over 450 referrals, and the phones haven’t stopped ringing.
We’re working with 17 food banks, churches, pantries and community spaces across the city to make sure families can access the help they need—but our stock levels are now worryingly low.

Thank you, Cllr Chambers, for showing up, listening, and standing with Derby families.
