Welcome to the team, Kate!

We're delighted to officially welcome Kate to the DF4TA staff team.

Kate first joined us nearly 18 months ago as a volunteer, applying to help deliver food parcels. It didn't take long for us to see just how much she could bring to the organisation, and she quickly became an integral part of the team.

Starting on our phone lines, Kate's confidence grew as she embraced new opportunities — volunteering across several days each week, helping to train new volunteers, supporting the opening of our Thoughtful Shop, and becoming a valued team leader.

Like many people, Kate had faced challenges and struggled to find the right volunteering opportunity before discovering DF4TA. Watching her grow in confidence, develop new skills and truly flourish has been a privilege.

When the Community Support Team Lead role became available, Kate applied and, having already demonstrated her commitment and passion throughout her time as a volunteer, was the successful candidate.

Returning to paid employment after a long break is a huge achievement, and we couldn't be prouder to have been part of that journey. Kate's story is a wonderful reminder of the difference volunteering can make—not only to the people we support, but to the volunteers themselves.
