THANK YOU – You got us back on the road
After the theft of our project van last week, we were overwhelmed by the kindness, shares, and messages of support from our community. What could have stopped our Furniture & Electrical Project in its tracks instead showed just how powerful Derby can be when people come together.
Because of your support and the reach of our appeal, Toyota have very generously stepped in and loaned us a van for the next few weeks. This means we can get back to doing what matters most — delivering essential furniture and electrical items to local families rebuilding their lives after crisis.
Since March, this project has already supported over 30 households, providing donated items a second life while helping families who are struggling to afford the basics and reducing waste going to landfill.
We still need a little help
When the van was stolen, we also lost the tools our volunteers rely on to safely carry out collections and deliveries. If anyone is able to donate any of the following, we would be incredibly grateful:
- Small toolbox
- Metric Allen keys
- Imperial Allen keys
- Set of screwdrivers
- Pliers
- Wire cutters
- Stanley knife
These may seem like small items, but they make a huge difference in helping our volunteers do their work safely and efficiently.
Thank you to Toyota for their generosity.
Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal.
Thank you for standing with Derby families when they needed it most.
Community is everything — and you proved that this week.
